Hole diameter . Sometimes the shields are recessed into the wood and other times they are flush with the door and it will not be necessary to make a hole. This will depend on the characteristics of your door. Recessed cylinders are not more secure but you will not always be able to recess them.

Filling . Finally, there are solid cylinders and hollow cylinders. The solid cylinder that is mortised is always the best option and the best quality and the type of steel will also indicate protection.
